In a recent appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live’s “Wake Up to Money” programme, Sandy Warne, Head of Political Violence and Terrorism at Howden Re, highlighted the London Market’s critical role in providing robust insurance solutions during times of crisis and escalating geopolitical tensions.
In the broadcast, Warne discussed Howden’s first-of-its-kind cargo war risk facility, designed to protect vessels from drone and missile strikes by Yemeni-based militia groups in the Red Sea. She highlighted the importance of this new facility in enabling clients to sustain their trade activities amid regional unrest, stating, “our job as a broking intermediary is to find solutions for clients in these unprecedented times”.
