Howden is proud to welcome Haakon AG into our collective power under the name Howden Re Switzerland.
The Basel-based reinsurance broker joined Howden one year ago, and this is the final step in the process to join the Howden brand.
“Over the past four decades, Haakon has built an exceptional reputation for delivering treaty, facultative, and complex reinsurance solutions to clients across Switzerland, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Now, Haakon’s extensive expertise, combined with Howden’s global reach, allows us to create a powerful synergy to better serve our clients,” Ivo Gugolz, CEO Reinsurance, Howden Switzerland said.
The integration of our teams over the past year has already enabled us to offer comprehensive, innovative, and long-term solutions to clients.
“This evolution is a logical step in fully leveraging the strengths of the Howden Group to deliver even greater value to our clients. Together, we are creating the largest reinsurance broking team in Switzerland, reinforcing our commitment to excellence and innovation. This is an exciting chapter for all of us, and we look forward to continuing our trusted collaboration,” Thomas Meier, Co-CEO Howden Re Switzerland and former CEO Haakon said.
With offices in Basel and Zurich, Howden Re Switzerland AG continues to remain committed to maintaining proximity to our Swiss clients. Our clients in Asia will continue to receive dedicated support from our Malaysia office, complemented by the expertise of our team in Singapore.
“The success of Howden’s European growth has been predicated on attracting highly talented local, like-minded, independent broking specialists with leading reputations for delivering the very best client solutions. We have found the ideal partner in Haakon, to achieve our reinsurance ambitions in Switzerland as well as strengthening our position as one of the leading reinsurance brokers in Europe,” Massimo Reina, CEO International, Howden Re said.
