A new report from Oasis Loss Modeling Framework is bringing together more than a dozen exposure management experts, including David Flandro, Howden Re Head of Strategic Advisory & Business Intelligence, and Tim Edwards, Head of Howden Re International Analytics, to paint the picture of how best practice can inform C-suite and investor decisions.
Navigating the Storm – The C-Suite Guide to Mastering Exposure Management, provides (re)insurance leaders with strategic insights to navigate catastrophe modelling and exposure management in today’s market landscape.
“Research and collaboration can help companies understand new and emerging risks – especially when used to study exposures using real-world data,” said Flandro.
The report provides steps for aligning exposure management functions with broader corporate strategy, including adapting models to reflect evolving risks, and integrating cross-departmental insights.
“Risk Modelling metrics calculated by modelling teams should cascade throughout a risk carrier’s business, feeding C-Suite and underwriting decision,” said Edwards. “Such metrics should track volatility against risk tolerances enabling an objective view of how relative risk levels have changed over time and how the level of risk assumed compares to peers and/or a target portfolio mix.”
