Whether they’re forging a unique path in or outside business, leading the way on community impact, giving back, or D&I initiatives, or demonstrating what it takes to make a difference, we are proud to introduce you to our team.

Be Inspired by: Jonathan Morris, Managing Director, Accounting & Claims, Howden Re
Based in Edina, Minnesota, Jonathan Morris is the Managing Director for Howden Re's North America Accounting & Claims team. He joined Tiger Risk in 2022 and said since becoming a part of Howden, Morris has seen the team nearly quadruple in size.
“It’s a challenge to keep up with the growth, but it’s tremendous fun,” said Morris, adding that that growth isn’t only about the personnel numbers. He said that growth paves the way for the team to meet their potential through opportunities that push their capabilities professionally and personally.
Morris said this helps the team stand out in the industry by offering a unique experience for clients.
“Earlier this year, we organized an operations meeting with one of our large casualty clients and it was purely focused on how we can better operate together to help them collect their claim balances faster and make sure that we're streamlined across both of our teams,” said Morris. “The client said they had never gotten anything like that level of attention from their prior reinsurance brokers, so that was particularly great feedback to hear!”
When it comes to growing the team, Morris believes it’s crucial not only for Howden Re, but for our clients to know that they’ll be working with talented people who understand reinsurance, their needs, and are dedicated to complex, bespoke solutions.
In addition to his leadership at Howden Re, Morris also volunteers on the Board of Directors for Young Dance, a nonprofit in Minneapolis that works to transform lives through movement by working with children of all abilities and body types.
“It's really a powerful thing to watch to see these kids grow and dance together and learn from each other,” said Morris. He’s seen that growth and confidence happen with his now adult children, who participated in Young Dance while growing up.
“One of the things that is so different about Young Dance is that they treat the students as collaborators and as creators,” said Morris. “It’s not just following instructions or learning a technique, but you also get this opportunity to express yourself and grow.”
Morris said through his involvement in the program, he’s learned to be more aware of how he expresses himself and his relationships with others as a team leader.
Much like Howden Re, Morris said during his time serving on the board, he’s watched Young Dance grow tremendously over the past decade. He said the nonprofit’s budget has doubled in that time, allowing the program to serve more students by inspiring them to express themselves through creative movement and become more confident in themselves.
“Joining Howden is one of the best, if not the best opportunity I’ve had in my career so far. I had a similar experience when I first joined the Young Dance Board; being able to contribute to the growth of a great organization and help lead that growth in some small way some of that growth,” said Morris. “Now, I have a chance to lead some of that same growth as our team builds and as we get more clients, more staff, and build more training programs. It’s a really powerful thing to have the opportunity to help shape the future.”
